Ruby+Associates Welcomes Four 2020 Interns

Ruby+Associates, Inc. is proud to announce that four summer interns have joined the firm.

Albert Edney, II (North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University), Matt Fox (Michigan Technological University), Mario Galindez (University of Michigan) and Evan Hanes (Michigan State University) will spend the summer with Ruby as engineering interns.

Edney is earning his BS degree in Civil Engineering from NCA&T State University, Greensboro, and expects to graduate in May 2023. He participates in the school’s honors program, is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the National Society of Black Engineers. Since 2013, Edney has been an audio engineering director and adviser for his local church. He lives in the St. Louis, Missouri area and is working remotely for Ruby.

Fox recently earned his BS degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University in Houghton. He will apply to attend MTU again this fall to pursue his Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering. Matt spent two summers as an intern with Reith-Riley Construction where he performed quality control and assurance duties. He lives in Westphalia, Michigan and is working remotely for Ruby.

Galindez earned his BS degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan in May 2020. While at U-M, Galindez spent a summer as a pavement/CAD co-op as well as an inspector/intern for two Detroit-area engineering firms.  He also led the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers at U-M and served as Assembly Finance Chair for the Engineering and Central Student Governments.

Hanes received his BS in Civil Engineering degree in May 2020 from Michigan State University. He expects to earn his MS in Civil Engineering (Concentration in Structural Engineering) from MSU in May 2021.  At MSU, Hanes served as a Student Civil Engineer with the Michigan State Planning, Design and Construction team, and prior to that, spent  summers with Truman P. Young & Associates in Cincinnati, Ohio; Consumers Energy in Mount Olive, Michigan; and with MDOT, Traverse City, as an intern.  Hanes lives in Lansing and is working remotely for Ruby.
