Ruby+Associates Announces Seven Promotions

Ruby+Associates, a structural engineering firm dedicated to serving the construction industry, announces seven promotions within the firm’s engineering and administrative departments.  

Ben Miller, PE, SE has been promoted to the position of Technical Manager; Tim Francisco, Phd, PE has been promoted to Technical Engineer II; Chris Lemmon, PE and Andrew Kus, PE have been elevated to Project Engineer I level; Nick Dulak has been promoted to Engineer II; Katy Clippert has been elevated to Senior Project Administrator, and Ron Razalan has been promoted to IT Manager.

Miller has been promoted to Technical Manager level, a new position within Ruby.  Ben has worked for Ruby since June 2007, after receiving his BS from Lawrence Technological University. He went on to earn his MS from Wayne State University. Ben leads the firm’s Connection Design service and has worked in all of the firm’s industries and services.

Francisco has been promoted to Technical Engineer II, also a new position with Ruby. Tim joined Ruby in September 2014 after receiving his PhD from Purdue University. He has worked on stadium, bridge, nuclear and automotive projects for Ruby and is skilled in several structural engineering and modeling software programs.

Lemmon has been elevated to Project Engineer I level. Chris has been with Ruby since October 2015. A Canadian citizen, he graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Applied Science with Honours in Civil Engineering. Chris has focused most of his efforts on automotive engineering work for Ruby.

Kus has also been elevated to Project Engineer I level. He joined Ruby in April 2018 after a few years working with a Detroit area A/E firm. Prior to that, he earned his BS in Architectural Engineering with a Structural Concentration from University of Detroit Mercy.  He also holds a MS degree in Structural Engineering from Wayne State University. Since joining Ruby, he has spent time working in all of Ruby’s core services, and particularly enjoys automotive work. 

Dulak has been promoted to Engineer II. Nick joined Ruby in June 2019. He received his BS from Michigan Technological University in 2015 and earned his Masters degree from Technical University of Dresden (Germany). He worked for an engineer in the Grand Rapids, MI area as well as a firm in Hamburg, Germany prior to joining Ruby. Nick has focused his work on erection engineering projects over the last year and a half.

Clippert has been elevated to Senior Project Administrator level. She began working for Ruby in March 2012 after over 20 years with MEEMIC Insurance Company. She has a BA from Hillsdale College. Katy works with Ruby’s client’s payables departments and provides payroll support. She trains new employees in timesheet tracking software and assists administratively in many departments.

Razalan has been promoted to IT Manager. Ron has a BS degree in Computer Engineering from Michigan State University.  He leads Ruby’s IT efforts including hardware, software and infrastructure. He proactively monitors Ruby’s software usage and licensing, and recommends new platforms and upgrades to enhance Ruby’s efficiencies firm-wide.  His efforts in 2020 supported a quick and seamless remote workforce.
