Ruby+Associates, a structural engineering firm dedicated to serving the construction industry, is proud to announce that Albert Edney II, a summer intern with Ruby in 2020, earned a $3500 scholarship from the American Council of Engineering Companies of Michigan (ACEC/M).

ACEC/M awards annual scholarships to deserving college students who have completed their freshman year and are enrolled in an ABET accredited engineering or surveying program. Recipients are evaluated on work experience, extra-curricular and community activities, references, grade point average and a written essay.

Edney, a current engineering sophomore at North Carolina A&T State University, was honored on February 26, 2021, along with 5 other scholarship recipients during the ACEC/M virtual gala.

While with Ruby, Edney contributed to automotive and government projects.  He performed truss analysis and floor plan member organizational analysis.  He is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta honor society; the National Society of Black Engineers; the American Society of Civil Engineering, and the Institute of Transportation Engineers. This summer, Albert will be a Manufacturing Intern with Kellogg Company.
