Ruby+Associates, Inc. announces four promotions within the firm’s engineering department.  

Eric Hughes and Josh King, P.Eng. have been promoted to the position of Engineer II, and Evan Fredline, PE and Jamie Smith, PE have been elevated to Project Engineer I level.

Eric Hughes has been promoted to Engineer II.  Eric has worked for Ruby since June 2019, after receiving his Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering (structural engineering focus) from the University of Windsor. While with Ruby, among other tasks, Eric has performed heavy lift engineering and rigging design for corporate and governmental projects.

Josh King, P.Eng. has also been promoted to Engineer II level. Josh joined Ruby in September 2019. He has a Bachelor and a Master degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering and Water Resources from the University of Windsor. Josh’s work at Ruby has focused on automotive projects. Josh is also an instructor at St. Clair College in Windsor where he teaches two courses per semester.

Evan Fredline, PE has been elevated to Project Engineer I level. Evan has worked in all of Ruby’s service sectors and has been with the firm since 2017. He leads Ruby’s internal Article Discussion Group, and he is a member of Ruby’s Community Service and National Engineers Week Planning Committees. He serves as a peer mentor for one of Ruby’s newer hires. Evan has BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan.

Jamie Smith, PE has also been promoted to Project Engineer I. Jamie was hired in September 2014, spent some time away from Ruby, and returned to the firm in 2019. He has BS and MS degrees from the University of Windsor. Jamie has worked on automotive, educational, and municipal projects for Ruby. He is an active member of the Windsor branch of ASHRAE.
