Chad Fox, PE, SE

Principal

"Why structural engineering? Well, I was always into the physics and math behind things. That, combined with developing something that you can actually see - the structure itself - was very appealing to me."

When given the choice between mechanical, electrical or structural engineering as his preferred field, Chad was drawn to structural from the beginning.  "Mechanical equipment is hidden away for the most part," he says. "I like that we can see what we're creating here at Ruby in the steel structure."

A returning Ruby employee who spent some time with a company focused on rigging and cranes, Chad is back with many of his former co-workers, and loving it.  When he's not managing challenging projects at Ruby, he's an outdoorsman who enjoys hunting grouse, turkey and deer.  Chad's a runner too, a passion that he shares with his wife, and his three children.

Chad graduated in 2001 from Michigan Technological University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree. He went on to receive his Master of Science in Civil Engineering degree from Purdue in 2002. Chad leads Ruby's Grand Rapids office and is a Principal with the firm.
